The Start of our Nation 2012 Trip

Getting ready for our trip, we needed to make sure that our new flagpole would work well with our trailer.

Almost all the way up (oh, we can make it any length we want).

There it is, all the way up 20 feet in the air. It also has a light on it that will go on when it becomes evening.  That way, the flag will be shown properly.

This is trick!  The black thing is what PC designed and requested our friend to weld together for the stand.  Then PC finished it up with beautiful black paint and placed the flagpole into it.  We can place the flag anywhere we want, for instance, at the hitch or any tire on the trailer or the under the jacks under the trailer that makes us stable (not shake) or even on any tire of our truck.  Now we have a flag that travels with our trailer and us!

READY, SET, GO!!!
We left our home April 18th, 2012 at approximately 0811 (08:11 AM) and arrived to our first stop of many approximately 5 hours later, Burro Creek, AZ.

If you didn't know to stop off the road, you would just drive right on pass it without even noticing it.  Burro Creek Campground is run by the BLM.  It is within the Sonoran desert canyon at an elevation of 1960 feet.  It is about a 60 minute drive from Wickenburg, AZ.

See the bridge above our trailer?  That is the road that so many people drive on without even noticing Burro Creek!

This is the campsite that we decided to take.  This place is a dry-camp area only and we are self-contained so we are good.  There is water to fill your tanks up - (if you can find it) - and a place to dump!

A great place to decompress and enjoy the desert!

Caught me doing my nails both the toes and fingers!

We were here for few days.  We hiked the trails, walked to the water and touched it too.

Hiking through the trails to the water.

It was so relaxing and quiet!  No, you could not hear the vehicles from the highway, amazing knowing the highway was just above  you and you don't hear it.

We had gorgeous nights with Venus shining down on us, the planet - silly!  Great dinners and warm evenings - no SNOW!

Okay, I, SR, must confess.  The comment previously about "if you can find it" in regards to water.  Well, I told PC not to fill up our tank all the way full or bring the extra water containers because there is water there and everywhere we will be going on this trip.  Sounds logical not having to carry all the water while driving the distance.

When we arrived and drove through the park we didn't take notice where the water was and we were so excited to start our trip that we set-up our trailer first.  That is good and sounds logical.

Oops, then we realized The Next Day, we didn't fill up the water tank.  Oh my, perhaps now this was not logical like I thought before we left!

We looked around to find the closest water spigot, there were a few in different places and the closest one wasn't all that far from us.

Why didn't we just hook up again and take our trailer - you are wondering?  PC wanted to do that because it sounded logical to him.  Not so logical to me.

The water spigot was just across from us and it would be to hard (me being a baby) to secure the trailer all over again and move the trailer.  Sounds logical to me!

Luckily, my Prince Charming brought the 5 gallon pail with us just in case, and of course, we have our nifty water pump system with us!  Very logical!!!

My PC caved to me being a baby.  Therefore, PC and I had to carry 40 gallons of water to our trailer in a 5 gallon bucket several times.  Laughing too.  Now that is logical.

Perhaps not all that logical to you but to me, it was.  Remember, behind every good man is a great woman who loves him a lot and he knows it!!!!

This is just the beginning of our trip!
Next stop, Green Valley, Arizona and more.
See you soon!
