San Antonio, Texas!

The Flower Festival
We are in the middle of all the celebration and having a terrific time.  Are you ready to see one of the best parades?  First, we arrived and there are vendors with all types of foods, fruits, desserts, vegetables and lots of drinks!
The place was crowded and we were in the middle of all of the fun!

We looked all around at the vendors to see what we wanted to eat and drink for lunch.
Downtown San Antonio was packed and all the tables that were set up for people were taken.  First come first sitting!  There were music bands playing all types of music from rock 'n roll to instrumentals and everything in between.  The sidewalks and grass was filled with people and their families enjoying the festivities of the festival of flowers.
We had our food but not our drinks, so I sent off my PC to find us something while I searched for a table for us.  PC found me immediately, why?  Because you know me, I'm shy!  NOT!
I found these two wonderful fireman and firewoman who are also EMTs at a table.  It was just them sitting and no one else with them.  So I asked if we could join them.  Of course!  Remember, if you ever want to find a seat in a busy place, look for the Police, Firemen, Paramedics, EMTs, anyone in a uniform who serve and protect people.  They are always willing to share and they did.  It was in the shade too!  We had a wonderful conversation and lunch.  Nice way to start off our day.

It is almost time for the parade.  People are lined up on the streets, paying for chairs and standing to watch this great celebration!  Here are some fun photographs for you to enjoy the way we did too.

Every single time when our beautiful flag was presented, everyone rose to their feet!  The patriotism during this festival is incredible!
Battle of the Flowers, where the Fiesta Began!

  Let the parade begin!

How about a little sound to go with this parade?

There are floats, cars, vehicles, horses, people, adults and children having a wonderful time participating in this parade.  Plus all of the crowd which includes us!

Businesses supporting the effort as well.

Bands from all over the country!

The U.S. Border Patrol

Now for some terrific action!  We hope you enjoy the short video below as much as we did.

The crowd would yell, "Show us your BOOTS"!!!  So they would.

All different types of people were represented in this parade.  The Armed Forces, the local businesses, different heritage and religious groups, colleges, high schools, clowns and so much more!
It is a parade!
And a great one to boot!

Did we say Clowns?
We sure did!

 Beautiful costumes!

Gorgeous colors!

Beautiful women surrounded by flowers!

After this moment of great fun, the parade was starting to wind down.
We were still all having so much fun and getting so involved.
And everyone was behaving very nicely too!

We were stopped by some people who asked if we were visitors and of course we said, yes!

They said, did you enjoy yourselves today?

We said, absolutely we did.

You will certainly understand why too!  Have fun watching this video below.

We all laughed because they said, it was apparent that you both were having a great time.  If you think that today's parade was special, you need to come back tomorrow night!
We asked how come?  The answer was...the parade will happen again but at Nighttime with lights of all different colors!  It is a site to see and no one should miss this opportunity.  I looked at PC and he said okay!  Yippee!
These two officers were stationed in front of our place on the parade route.  They were so nice!

Now that the "DAY Parade" has been completed, we were ready to walk the famous
San Antonio River Walk.
Here we go!

She was the hostess of a restaurant trying to get people to come in for dinner.

These two kids were having a blast at the parade and wanted some souvenirs to take home!

So did we!  Except we ate ours while on the River Walk.

Yummy dark chocolate covered marshmallows.
 Yummy dark chocolate covered cherries!

While we were enjoying our treats, PC noticed this duck.  She would come out to see what was going on in her neighborhood and then go back to her babies.

You never know what you will see when you are at the River Walk!

Like we said, you never know what you will see at the River Walk!!!  Oh my gosh, REALLY?
 What an outfit!!!!

The famous gondola's at the River Walk.
If you haven't had the tour, it is a must.  So beautiful to ride on the boat, "gondola's" and take a tour of the River Walk by water.

All good things must come to an end - until tomorrow of course, LOL!

We took the public transportation from our RV Park to town and now it is time to go back.  PC is sitting on the bench with many others waiting for our bus to arrive.

Here we go!
Bye-bye for now!
Thanks for visiting and come back real soon now.
