What the heck am I talking about? "One day off and another day to play!" Every day is a day off from the working world of most people. That's right, we are retired. So now a "day off" is consider a rest day of doing not much of anything. Perhaps we are just sitting and taking in the quiet moments of nothing, taking a nap in the morning or afternoon, reading, playing cards, appreciating life at this exact time or talking with each other about everything and anything or just good nonsense for a terrific laugh. Yep, we do that a lot of our days in our retired lifestyle now going on eleven years!
So now it is time for us to play once again.
The trails we find and follow respectfully, we must be very careful not to hurt the plant life and other living species so everyone can enjoy what we see now and in the future. That is why we must enjoy all of our Free Land and Respect it. Do not let our Government take away what we should be enjoying and learning for years to come and generations after generation - the earth is for our enjoyment as long as we respect it.
In this picture where we are pointing to "Look Closely" there is a huge bird that just kept on flying around my head and singing. So I stopped to listen for a few moments. The bird sat there perched upon this tree and sang for me. When it was done, it flew away. I was the bird's audience and I am making it famous by taking its picture!
Now this guy, this huge lizard you just could not miss whatsoever! He was enjoying the fallen cactus core on it's side, blending in perfectly in the shadows.
Yet, we were able to see him and so happy that a predator did get him before we could snap a picture of this Big Lizard!!!
Here is a close-up of him so you can get the idea just how large he really is!
While riding our ATVs in this wash we were able to see him clearly.
He must be really enjoying his life without a care in the world.
Sounds a bit familiar to us, thank goodness.
As we continue on our 5 hour ride, we came upon this life and death picture.
It is amazing to us just how the two (life and death) are able to share the same space at the same time.
Something to think about.
We are so little in comparison to our surroundings!
This is the first time I've seen a Barrel Cactus blooming. PC has seen it before but not me! Again, cacti have their special and short time for their flowers and it is just so pretty!
After our five hour ride, we ended up not too far from a very small town with a waterhole for people to come in and enjoy. So we did it. We had a lunch and a beer from the tap for just .75 cents! Tap Beer for .75 cents! We are not even beer drinkers but who could resist this great opportunity. Surprisingly, it was sure good tasting after this ride!
