Hello Dear, are you there?

This is our way of deer hunting!
Sitting back and playing pinochle with our hunting friends, Ed, Joe & (Jody, he is taking the picture).

Okay, this whole thing about playing cards was a huge surprise to all the guys.  Really, no one was expecting it.  The night before while PC & I were planning our meal (late lunch early dinner) and snacks for the long day of hunting, I said, honey I want to bring a table with us.  He said what for?  I said so we can all eat our meal together on a table.  PC didn't think anything of it and said okay.  (Little did he know, I'm sneaky - back to good old self again, LOL!).

Now I have to go a bit back in time for this adventurous day so it all makes sense to all of you who like to visit us here on the blog.

If you missed the previous posting, please make sure you go to it.  We took all of our hunting friends the same route as we did the day before for the tour.  Hunting is done very early in the morning, when the sun first comes out in the morning.  Let me tell you, no one wanted to be out before the sun with temperatures below 40º that morning with a light breeze!  So the guys all came up to our home and we left at noon.  At that time of day is when the deer are settled down and not moving too much in the woods.  We all decided to have some fun ATV riding prior to picking our spot early enough to wait for the deer for the late afternoon hunting time.

Now you understand why we are playing cards.  To pass the hours of waiting for the hunt to begin.
Here are my hunting buddies (Ed, PC, Jody and Joe) and we all played cards together while keeping an eye out for deer!  It was a fun-filled day for all of us being together and for the deer too.
Us Card-playing Hunters = Zero
Deer =Hiding out the whole time
That means, no one was able to find a deer this day!
We left the mountain around 6:30PM and decided to go to the lake behind our home.  Jody and Joe decided they had enough deer searching for the day and went home.  Ed and us took off for the lake on the west side of our neighborhood.
This is the sunset from where we finally ended up waiting for the deer to cross our pathway.  We have to be very very quiet so the deer won't hear us.
Below is a short video of us finding our spot before we saw that sunset.
We were really quiet walking; weren't we?
We hope you enjoyed and felt as if you were with us on this little hike which is close to the lake from our home - yep, it is about a 15 minute ride over there!  We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area.

The final Tally for the day
HUNTERS = ZERO
DEER = LAUGHING AT US!
And we all had tons of fun.
Come back soon!
