Cowboys and Cowgirls - The American Dream!

The joy of living in a small community is the charm of life which makes our retirement years so important to us!  The City of St. George is celebrating 150 years and PC was right in the middle of it!  PC was able to document this fun event from our car window while he was trying to get into town on Friday, October 7th.  Turn up your speakers and watch our video.

These great participants did just over a 100-mile ride from Parowan to St. George that took eight days to accomplish.  They camped in their covered wagons, tents and sleeping bags a little bit more comfort than the original pioneers did 150 years ago.  Just one other little comfort they all were able to enjoy was that their meals were all catered and they did have restroom facilities supplied.  Now the weather stayed true pretty much from a 150 years beforehand.  It was cold and wintery with rain, snow and freezing temperatures for the evenings on many of the 8 days of travel.

These great citizens of present time made sure they were dressed and bundled up in the period time wool pants, vests, hats and dresses for the long trek of celebration.  It is our understanding that the original trek was more than 1,100 miles for the pioneers who traveled across the Great Plains and founded the settlements in the hot desert of Utah's Dixie!

This is our short video and story of the way we understand the 150th Birthday of St. George!  We hope you enjoyed it.

Y'all come back again real soon now, ya hear?
