Car Fun turns to RV

Well, the previous posting showed the Chevelle getting prepared for a road trip. Everything was ready and then the sky opened up and it was pouring rain on Saturday. Therefore, the Chevelle will have its glory another day. Yep, we still met up with our friends to enjoy breakfast at a local place then we came home.

Next, we took off with our trailer and ATVs then headed out for the North Rim but not before stopping a Costco for ice.

Then about 2 hours later or so, we arrived at the North Rim (Grand Canyon), Arizona!
We set-up our campsite, unloaded the ATV's on this gorgeous afternoon. What a huge difference from this morning. We just love being outdoors amongst the tall trees with no one in sight of us.

The next day, we headed out for a ride on our ATV's, picnic lunch and yet another glorious day.

Together with and without helmets.

How about some scenery now? I bet you are tired of looking at us, don't say it - think it and smile. Oh one more picture or two or three or four.
We started off again on our journey and we came up against a fallen dead tree in our pathway. Oh my oh my, what to do? That is easy! Use the winch on the ATV and pull it out of the trail.
Success with a big thumbs up!

Of course, Prince Charming did it and I took pictures!

We are off again but not more than a couple of turns did we come across yet another tree, then another tree and another tree on the trail. Did we move them - nope we didn't. It would take all day to move all of the dead trees so we did what everyone else did, go around them! Oh well, can't be the good guy all the time.

Since we were taking a short tour, oh about 2-3 hours we decided to go back to our campsite. When we arrived, we decided that we wanted to move to another area a bit more secluded just up the hill. So we packed up some of the stuff and placed it into the truck, drove up one ATV and parked then went down to the trailer to which we secured it and hooked it up to the truck. PC drove it up and I followed in my ATV making sure we could go through the twisted and narrow road. This is part of the road that we took to the new location just when it opened up WIDE so I took a big breath and relaxed - home free.
And now for the campsite that we stayed at for the duration of our adventure through Wednesday. (Just a note, there is a picture of the very front of the trailer sitting up on a stack of wood. This is the first time we ever had to go so high to level off. We just thought it was a cool picture. We are surrounded with more trees and the main road is further down the hill.

This campsite was obviously occupied by a few hunters a couple of months ago. They were kind enough to leave a beautiful fire pit and tons of chopped up wood for us! What luck was that?
I must have my campfire. Hey, that's our bar-b-que! Here I am - of course, I must first have my marshmallows!

Now here is a picture that is a Kodak Moment! Smile BIG!

The next day is another adventure of riding. Each time I get to pick the trails, they dead end or go to a place where we are not supposed to ride. So I request PC to lead and I follow happily.

Can you say, eat my dust?

Now it is time for us to leave this beautiful place and just in time too! See what we left behind us? Check out the sky.
