Get Ready!

Our dear friends, Dave and Linda from Georgia, came to visit us for a few days.  We had a lovely time altogether so much that oops, the pictures are not many, LOL!  They arrived on Thursday afternoon after flying into Las Vegas.  A quick drive, 2-1/2 hours, to our home with dinner ready to be served.  They brought the wine to complete our dinner and it was great!!!

Dave also coordinated their visit so he could participate in his last marathon that he will run.  We will see for sure because never say never which goes along with his phrase "my last marathon" -

Friday morning events:
The athlete is Dave, the guy with the hat.
We entered all together because everyone was really invited to come in and have fun.  It was time to pick up his registration and tour the vendors' booths.

Once we were in, Dave needed to go and get his package for the Runners of the St. George Marathon!

This marathon is getting more and more popular each year that we've been living here.  Amazing just how many people come here to RUN!
Now this is where WE (non-runners) can't enter!  Dave is the runner so he goes in and starts his exciting event for this marathon.

Picking up his number 1525
Getting his package with many of the other runners that will be joining him in this Marathon that is Nationally known and open to everyone around the world!  This marathon is also a qualifying 26.2 mile run for the Boston Marathon.  Want to know how many people were registered?
7200 Runners!
And Dave is 1525
I'm not 100% sure but if I understand correctly, the number you are assigned is based upon your running time.

After the registration, picking up the package we walked around the vendors' booths.  We went to lunch and came home to relax.
What better way to relax than to...
...make sure that there are no obstacles in your way when you are going to play Frisbee!
BEWARE OF HOLES!
Now that that is taken care of, let's play and have some fun.  Get some blood running in the veins and breathe the air in a higher altitude ~ well, that last comment is for Dave since he is from Georgia, LOL.

The boys had fun playing Frisbee and running around.  It was a beautiful day and evening to share together as good friends.

Tomorrow is the race!

Thanks for visiting and be sure to come back really soon.
