The short story
The Celebration of eight (8) nights in lighting the candles of Chanuka - or in other words, Kindling the Festival lights at sundown. These 8 days and nights are all in a celebration and thanks of the Lord. There are many different ways to spell Chanukah which all of them are correct and it all depends upon each individual and their own preference.I've chosen to share the seventh day and the eight evening of Hanukah (the last night) with you. Chanukah started December 8th and ends December 15th, 2012. On this day of the 15th, we woke up to snow.
As our day continued, it snowed more and more approximately 6 inches by 11:00 AM
Before sundown, I went out to take some pictures of our house and the snow was starting to melt by then. Our new and smaller garden covered with snow.
The front of our home and our flag is at half mast in memory of the victims from the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.
Cloudy, snowy day and it is really cold outside even though the snow is melting in the afternoon.
It is sundown
The last evening of Chanukah with all 8 candles lit to enjoy the holiday.
Our Star of David
Shining brightly at sundown
How about learning some history?
The six points symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions.Through the Jewish people's long and often difficult history, we have come to the realization that our only hope is to place our trust in God. The six points of the Star of David symbolize God's rule over the universe in all six directions: north, south, east, west, up and down.
Happy Chanukah to you, your family and everyone who wishes to celebrate along with us.
Love,
Love,
