The view through our kitchen window.
There was a day or two or three or four or five, perhaps more that we just stayed within our campsite. We would read, play cards, listen to music, rest, take naps and enjoy our camp!
Such a relaxing day with a clear sky and great temperatures that are warming to us, a great welcome for us!
Lazy days, sitting in the sun - not! Laying in the sunshine, not completely - indirect sunlight is more like it. No sunburn for this gal!
A little of vitamin D is always good as long as you are not sunburn. We are very careful while in the sun.
We also take time to clean-up other people's messes. Yes, this is true. There are some people who just don't care about the desert and then there are people who do care and want to keep the desert pristine.
No applauding for us from anyone, please. If we are going to enjoy the desert, use the desert for our fun then it should be clean and cleaned up.
Our motto is, leave it cleaner than how we found it.
On one of our riding days, we came about a huge mess. We just couldn't leave it there for someone to make it worse.
It took us just a few hours to pick up glass beer bottles (approximately 5 six packs), another 8 six packs of canned beer, disregarded women's clothing which included shoes, shorts, blouses, dresses, cover-ups, etc. And the worst of all was the batteries, cans of empty chew, porn magazines and paraphernalia that was sprawled all through one of the washes where so many people go ATVing. Disgusting!
Just a note, prior to picking up all of this mess, we contacted the local sheriff's department. They came out to meet us and we took them to the area. Why? To make sure there were no open cases that were being investigated. It was deemed to be felony littering without any suspects. (That is just a little humor to lighten up the situation... "Felony Littering") The sheriff was so kind and appreciative of our concerns and he said he will come back to clean it up on his day off. We said, no, we will do it and take it to the dump. End of story!
Other cleaning up activities
Placing more clean water into our trailer! So clever my PC! We make sure we won't run out of water while on our trips.
He made this great system to pump the clean safe water for our trailer that we take with us until it is time for us to do our dump. "Dump" means, drain our black (toilet) and grey waters (shower and sinks) at the proper disposal areas.
When we just want to take a drive with our truck to another area, we do that too. While we were on the road this is what we saw with amazement!
Look how close everyone is to each other. They are also right off the main highway too. Different likes for different folks. It is also groups of friends and clubs coming together in a mutual easy access place for their fun.
Taking pictures while we are driving on the highway.
Different strokes for different folks, not something we care to do.
At least everyone has fun and we all can agree that going out with our recreational vehicles is always great time spent away from home and work!
Come back soon.
Come back soon.
