We have plenty of fun with each other!
First thing is we take turns with taking pictures of each other.
Oh by the way, we did ride our ATVs for a couple of hours after everything was set-up.
What do we do when we are at our campsite?
We sit close to each other and talk talk talk, we never run out of things to say. until the fire goes out.
So it is almost time to say good-night for the evening. Wish you were here with us!
June 29th, 2009
(the next day)
(the next day)
We decided to go for an ATV tour for a couple of hours and expl
ore!
At Three Lakes we saw three dried up ponds, oops, I mean lakes. And this cool cabin to which PC had to duck, oops, I mean bend over to walk inside.

Okay, I have a bit too much fun with words. Take a great look around and see just how interesting and beautiful it is!
The cabin is just to the left of this gigantic old and very dead tree.
Okay, you got us. We are waiting for our friends to arrive and they are supposed be coming between 12 noon and 1PM. Sure glad we brought our lunch and playing cards while we waited.
They arrived; a bit later than we all expected but all was safe and accounted for - all 7 of them!
So PC told them how much further to go up the trail and they will see the campsite. We will be right up there in a moment of two.
As the ladies were finishing up their lunch, Grandpa and Daddy are going to set up their campsite so everyone will be comfortable the for next few days.
The tent trailer is being disconnected from the truck and then Grandma & Grandpa will open it up and organized it.
Since there are seven family members, not all of them can fit into the trailer. So check out how neat this other set-up is!

It is a Tent for the bed of the truck! Daddy is now pumping up the air mattress so it will be nice and cozy for Mommy and Daddy to sleep.
This is really neat especially if you don't have a trailer of some sort. It is so compact and easy to put up too. (Go see the photobucket)
The girls will sleep with Grandma & Grandpa in the trailer.

It is now mid-afternoon and we went back to our campsite. We decided to take our ATVs, chairs and a table to have a picnic lunch down close the the entrance of our secret campsite.

June 30th
While the family goes to the Grand Canyon in their vehicle,
we take off for our ATV tour of the Grand Canyon!
We left about 10:30AM for our ATV ride to the Grand Canyon with our picnic lunch and where there are not too many people (tourists) go to see this side of the Grand Canyon.
You need a map of the ATV trails to get there. Yes, if you have the map you can get there in a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
On the way, we stop and look around at some very pretty areas. Enjoy the pictures!
You never know what you will see on the way or what you will run into too!

We drove up to the Castle Spring to find the spring and yep it is there with a small opening to see the running water. A well protected area under beautiful natural foliage, as you can see. It was a great spot to take a break - sit and cool off from a long ride.

We are standing above the natural spring which is across from Castle Rock.
And now, the magnificent Castle Rock! PC is standing at the spring taking this picture.
Make a wish when you find a dandelion. They are huge so I get to make a Great Big Wish!

So we are still on our way up to our destination of the Grand Canyon. What else will we see? Or what will see us?
Smile PC! Hey, the cow heard me too and turned around. She is not shy at all - and who says only California Cows have all the fun? Vote for her!
Oh boy! We are almost there. Just 4 more miles to go and we are at Crazy Jug Point.
Sowats (So Whats) Point is another great place to see parts of the Grand Canyon.
Are we there yet?
PC said to me, no honey we still have another FOUR (4) Miles to go. See the sign? It says another 4 miles to go. I could have sworn we've already gone at least 5 miles since the last sign? Laughing!!! This is why PC always has a map with us. Also, we are not unfamiliar with this area we been here before and love coming back to visit.
We arrive at Crazy Jug Point! There is a reason why it is called Crazy Jug. Check out this campsite. Today the person or people are not here when we arrived.
The last time we were here there was a very similar campsite set up just like this one with a man and a woman. I thought it could be the same people but he didn't. Now this is roughing it in the woods!
Tent, tent shower and commode, campfire rock ring and some other stuff.
Here we are at a different vantage point of the GRAND CANYON! It is breathtaking and we do agree that the pictures do not do it justice. You just have to see it yourself so plan on it some day soon.

What a pretty place for someone to make a campfire and watch the Grand sunset of the evening.
We can certainly understand how and why a person can get lost in the beauty of this place. Time just flies by when you are having a grand time!
Oh my, look at the time! We better start heading back because it is now 4:00PM.
Of course there is some hiking to get to where you want to go like back up to the ATVs!
Hey, wait for me! I'm right behind you. PC did, in fact, he helped me up this ledge of rocks and it is a lot more steep than the pictures shows - especially the next step!
You have been seeing the road signs; right? As if they help you - NOT!
They aren't like the road signs on the highways.
We are heading back to our campsite!
We made it back safe and sound and DIRTY! We cleaned up and had a fun simple dinner.
Hot dogs cooked over an open fire that my PC made for me! These were the Best Hot Dogs ever! I highly recommend doing this fun cooking.

So just how far did we ride our ATVs to this side of the Grand Canyon? Any guess from you? Keep reading and you will find out.
